Training in Business Skills
Negotiation Skills Workshops
Interaction conducts customised negotiation skills workshops to refresh staff on communication and negotiation skills. The one-day course is based around customised scenarios building client service with difficult customers, interdepartmental committees and, if necessary, international negotiations.
Writing Workshops
Interaction is currently conducting Writing Training workshops for a number of APS Departments. The highly interactive workshops are tailored specifically to the Department's needs and use the Department's templates and approaches to writing. Courses can be tailored for new to experienced staff and cover essential APS Writing skills through to preparing ministerial correspondence and briefs.
Grammar Workshops
Writing training has now been expanded to an additional workshop that focuses specifically on the use of grammar when writing correspondence and internal documents.
Understanding your APS Accountabilities Workshop
Interaction runs Understanding Accountabilities workshops for a number of APS Departments. Our consultants draw on their own experience, Departmental and APS documents, and use tailored exercises to develop staff awareness of the frameworks and their accountabilities and responsibilities within the Department and within the APS.
Policy Development Workshops
Interaction provides Policy Development workshops for a number of APS Departments. Our highly skilled consultants draw on their own experiences within the APS to provide up-to-date skills in Policy Development.
Giving and Receiving Feedback Workshops
Interaction provides workshops for either APS level or executive level staff to provide skills in communicating feedback on performance. The workshops are tailored specifically with Department performance schemes and include approaches for underperformance.
Personal Wellbeing Workshops
Interaction designs and delivers a one day workshop to assist staff to better manage stressful periods, understand the fundamentals of health and wellbeing and develop practical strategies for life-long healthy habits.
Representational Skills Workshops
This is a two day workshop Interaction can provide to develop participants' skills in: managing clients and stakeholders; managing meetings to achieve the desired purposes; negotiating to achieve the best possible outcomes; and presenting their position and information.
Client Services and Stakeholder Management
Interaction delivers a one day workshop which looks at the aspects of providing excellent client service and understanding stakeholders. The workshop looks at identifying client and stakeholders, conducting analysis and developing strategies for meeting client and stakeholder expectations.
Values and Code of Conduct Workshops
Interaction designs and delivers a range of workshops focussing on values and code of conduct in the APS. The workshops focus on developing a working knowledge of the values and uses case studies to reinforce appropriate workplace behaviours.
Supervision Skills Workshops
Interaction conducts one and two day Supervision Skills workshops to assist participants to develop a knowledge of supervisory responsibilities as well as developing a toolbox of strategies to maximise their effectiveness as supervisors.
Project Management Workshops
Interaction has developed several Project Management workshops ranging from half to full day. The workshops focus on Project Management principles and provide participants with practical activities and tools that can be applied to their own projects.
Business Planning Workshops
Interaction offers a range of Business Planning workshops developed around agency-specific policies and templates. Interaction provides training to specific work areas as well as generic Business Planning training that covers the fundamentals of developing an effective plan.
Financial Management in the APS
Interaction offers half and full day programs focusing on the Financial Management elements and requirements in the APS. Topics include legislation, budgeting, policy processes, financial planning and monitoring, delegations and procurement.
Economics Policy Workshops
Interaction is currently developing an Economics Policy workshop for non-Economists for a number of APS Departments. Our consultants draw on their academic qualifications and policy experience within the APS to provide up-to-date skills in the fundamentals of economic theory and their application in Economics Policy development and review.
